Google Knowledge Panel and Entity Presence

A Google Knowledge Panel is the box that appears beside a search for a person, company or brand. It is not a listing anyone can buy, submit or create. Google generates it from the Knowledge Graph when it is confident that an entity exists, that it is the same entity across the web, and that independent sources treat it as notable. That means the panel is an output. The work is on the inputs: whether the evidence Google reads about you is consistent, structured and corroborated. Everyone selling a guaranteed panel is selling you an outcome Google controls and they do not.

08 · Google Knowledge Panel and Entity Presence

The work

Mechanism first, in the order it happens.

01

Entity audit before anything else

What Google currently holds about you, whether a panel already exists in some form, whether it has been split across two half-entities, and whether the notability evidence exists yet. This ends in a straight read: eligible now, eligible after specific work, or not eligible, with the reason.

02

One consistent identity

Name, role, description, founding date, location and links made identical across every profile, publication, registry and directory. Contradictory records are the single most common reason a panel never forms — Google cannot resolve two half-matching entities into one confident record.

03

Structured data Google can read

Person and Organization markup on the properties you control, with sameAs links tying every profile back to one identifier. This is the machine-readable half of the claim, and it is the part most agencies skip because it is unglamorous.

04

Corroboration from sources you do not own

Panels form on independent evidence, not self-description. Where the notability record is thin, that is a coverage problem and is worked as one, through the press and editorial route, not by fabricating citations.

05

Claiming, verification and correction

Where a panel exists, we take you through Google's own claim and verification flow, then use the published feedback route to correct wrong facts. A claimed panel is also the only supported way to keep it accurate as things change.

Limits, stated up front

What this is not

  • Nobody can guarantee a Knowledge Panel, and we will not pretend otherwise. Google decides whether one appears, using signals it does not publish and can change. Any firm guaranteeing a panel is either misdescribing the work or planning to manufacture the evidence.
  • A panel requires notability that already exists in independent sources. Where it does not exist yet, the honest answer is that this is a coverage problem first, and we will say so and close the file rather than sell you a submission that cannot succeed.
  • We do not covertly edit Wikipedia or Wikidata on a client's behalf. Paid contribution has to be disclosed under their terms, undisclosed editing gets reverted and can poison the entity record for years.
  • We do not invent sources, place fake citations, or build fake profiles to manufacture an entity. That is the technique that produces a panel which later disappears and takes the rest of your search presence with it.
  • We do not suppress or remove true information through this route. Correction is limited to facts that are actually wrong.

To open the file

What we need

  • The exact name the entity should carry
  • Whether a panel already appears, and the search that shows it
  • Every profile, registry record and property you control
  • Independent coverage that already exists, if any
  • Whether anyone has previously worked on this and what they did

Never a password, a two factor code, a backup code or a session token. Not at the review stage, not later, not ever.

FAQAsked before every engagement

Questions people actually type

Can you guarantee a Google Knowledge Panel?

No, and neither can anyone else. Google generates panels from its Knowledge Graph using signals it does not publish. We can tell you honestly whether the eligibility evidence exists, build the inputs that make a panel possible, and take you through Google's own claim and verification flow. The decision remains Google's.

How much does a Google Knowledge Panel service cost?

The eligibility read costs nothing. If a route exists, you get a written scope with a fixed fee before any work starts, and third-party costs quoted separately. If the notability evidence does not exist yet, we say so and close the file rather than charging for a submission that cannot succeed.

How long does a Knowledge Panel take to appear?

There is no published timeline, because there is no queue and no submission that obliges Google to act. Entity and structured data work can be completed in weeks. Whether and when Google reflects it varies, and any firm quoting you a fixed number of days is quoting a number it invented.

Do I need a Wikipedia page to get a Knowledge Panel?

No. Wikipedia is one corroborating source among many, and plenty of panels exist without one. What matters is consistent, independently verifiable evidence that the entity exists and is notable, from sources you do not control.

Can you fix wrong information in my existing panel?

Where a panel exists, you can claim it through Google's verification flow, and a verified representative can submit corrections through the published feedback route. That covers facts that are actually wrong. It does not cover accurate information you would prefer removed.

What is the difference between a Knowledge Panel and a Google Business Profile?

A Business Profile is a listing you create and control for a local business. A Knowledge Panel is generated by Google about an entity, and cannot be created directly. They can appear similar in results and are frequently conflated, including by firms selling one while describing the other.
