What has been done

• Every page is server rendered, so content is present without JavaScript and readable by assistive technology and by crawlers.
• One h1 per page and a heading order that does not skip levels.
• A skip to content link as the first focusable element on every page.
• Visible focus outlines on every interactive element, never removed without a replacement.
• Text and interface colours checked against the AA contrast ratio on the page backgrounds they appear on.
• Form fields have labels above the field, not placeholders standing in for labels, with hints and errors linked programmatically.
• All motion respects the reduced motion preference. With it enabled, the scroll rail, reveals, parallax, marquee and magnetic effects all stop, and nothing is lost.
• No content is hidden behind an animation. Every section renders at full opacity whether or not scripts run.
• Images carry descriptive alternative text, and decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
• Body text is set at 17px with generous line height and reflows to 320px width without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

• The scroll linked rail in the left margin is decorative and hidden from assistive technology. It carries no information.
• The publication marquee moves horizontally by default. It stops entirely under reduced motion, and the same names are listed as static text in the disclosures page.
• Third party content, such as a publisher page we link to, is outside our control and may not meet the same standard.

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, email the desk at the address published on this site and say what you were trying to do, which page, and what happened. We will fix it, and in the meantime we will give you the same information another way. There is no separate accessibility queue: it goes to the same desk as everything else.

Anything on this site can be provided by email in plain text on request, including the full text of any guide and the whole case review process, so nobody has to use the form to reach us.
